Are Pay To Click Programs Legitimate?

Nowadays, lots of people who wish to get an online business going are starting with PTCs — Pay to Click web sites. That’s what I did. To begin, give me a chance to elaborate on what Pay-to-Click websites are. A Pay-to-Click site pays you a small amount for simply viewing a short ad, usually lasting around thirty seconds or so. Every time you view an advertisement, some money is put to your PTC account; ordinarily, this must amass to a set amount of money (ordinarily roughly $5) before you are free to withdraw it. In addition, PTC sites oftentimes have a few special options for those who are members, and almost all have referral bonuses.

You can pay for referrals (or you can recruit them), and you get more or less half of how much they generate from clicking ads. So, if whenever you watch an advert you earn $0.01, you’ll make another half a penny whenever one of your referrals does the same. It seems like kind of a slow way to go, but think about what happens if you have scores of people under you. Several of these PTC sites also offer a few special options to their members, allowing for additional money per click (sometimes for your referrals as well as yourself), more ads and more referrals. While you may make a bit more cash with one of the enhanced plans, they generally cost an a lot up front, so be careful.

For instance, let’s say you join a PTC service that has four adverts. You then obtain a thousand folks to join under you. And let’s say that both you and your referrals earn $0.01 for each click. Do the math. That’s $40 dollars for you, presuming all 1000 of your referrals view all four advertisements. You would agree, that doesn’t sound too bad. That would be a good amount to generate per day, doesn’t it?

The truth is, nearly all Pay-to-Click programs are nothing but scams. They are actually pyramid schemes. A pyramid scheme is where folks put in cash anticipating more in return after some time, but the person in charge simply pays out more cash to a few of the members and the others are left with zero, or very little. Here’s an example: If ten people throw in 10 dollars, that’s one hundred dollars. The guy on top could give back $15 to 4 individuals and keep the remainder himself, leaving nearly all of the others without any money. How they are able to get away with this is through enticing us to join as members and to buy referrals (which, incidentally, are typically bots, not genuine people), then paying out cash that other folks invest to pay for their own membership and later referrals. Because a lot of the referrals may just be bots, and thus non-paying, the cash from viewing ads isn’t going to cover all the pay-outs. Eventually, folks will stop investing in the Pay-to-Click web site and the last people to invest are not going to see any money. If you are one of the ones close to the top, in from the start, there’s a chance of earning some money, but it is not balanced by the risks.

Personally, I would urge keeping your distance from Pay-to-Click websites, as the good ones are going to generate you little cash and the ones that big money are usually scams, resulting in somebody losing out.

Will Commission Autopilot be a legitimate program? It’s too early to say, but we’ll know when it’s released in 2012.
